West Seattle Women's Health was founded in 2014 to offer holistic health care from menarche through menopause to women living in Seattle, Burien and Tacoma. Dr. Shari Luchino is the Nurse Midwife who started the clinic, and offers well woman care as well as midwifery prenatal, birth and postpartum services.  In 2016, Amber Dawn Hallet moved her Maya Abdominal Therapy practice from San Francisco into West Seattle Women's Health, where she thoroughly enjoys serving her clients with a backdrop of the Salish Sea and Olympics. More recently, we were joined by well-loved 'baby whisperer,' osteopath Catherine Henderson. Here's a bit more about each of us:

Amber Dawn Hallet

Amber Dawn Hallet is a women's reproductive health educator and bodyworker who supports women throughout their reproductive lives: pregnancy prevention, healthy cycling, fertility, pregnancy, birth preparation, postpartum recovery, and pregnancy loss or termination.  She is a Certified Fertility Awareness Method EducatorCertified Reproductive Health EducatorLicensed Massage Practitioner, and a Professional Practitioner of the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy. She strongly believes that all women deserve to have the knowledge understand their cycles, to gauge their hormonal health, to choose when (and when not) to conceive, and to take care of their bodies naturally. With these tools, women can take responsibility for their health, enjoy side-effect-free birth control, and conceive with confidence and ease when they're ready.

Catherine Henderson

Catherine Henderson is an osteopathic cranial practitioner who treats infants , children and adults. She uses gentle techniques to release held trauma patterns from birth, falls, accidents, surgery and emotional stress. As her clients reconnect with the Health, they experience freedom from pain, improved energy and a new sense of wellbeing.

Catherine studied osteopathy in Britain from 1976-80, then spent 30 years practicing in Berkeley, CA. Her work is informed by studies with James Jealous DO, and in perinatal psychology, lay midwifery, Jungian psychology, Continuum Movement and the natural world.

Shari has a deep dedication to the health and wellbeing of women and children and has devoted decades of her life to this passion and calling. She received her nursing education from the University of Washington with a Bachelors in Nursing and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. Prior to becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife, she was a Birth Doula in the Seattle area for 10 years and a past president of PALS-Doulas.

Shari works with you to develop a holistic course of care that fits you best. She provide compassionate, holistic women’s health care through the life span as a Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Midwife, offering pregnancy care, labor and birth, postpartum care and newborn care to 6 weeks. Her experience and dedication as a provider, doula, and mother help her develop strong relationships with her patients that lead to better health outcomes.
